Hawaii 2019 Workshop – Selection

A jury comprised of six journalists and editors from five countries participated in the review and evaluation of applications for the January 2019 Hawaii Journalism Workshop. We received 77 applications from journalists from 23 countries, from which there were places for only 17 applicants (increased from 15).  Our aim was to select a diverse group of journalists with strong credentials, a demonstrated interest in the workshop’s themes, varying levels of experience covering nuclear news, and representing a variety of countries, outlets, and perspectives.

We welcome those who were not selected for the workshop to join an informal network of journalists interested in reporting or training opportunities, resources, and information related to the intersection of emerging technologies and nuclear risks
