Peter Rickwood founded Atomic Reporters in 2012 to help journalists access the nuclear file. Peter is a Canadian journalist who spent most of his career working in print reporting for The Toronto Star. From 2001 to 2009, he was a press officer in the International Atomic Energy Agency during and after the onset of the Iraq war providing journalists information based on the findings of its inspectors.He also worked as media adviser for the Preparatory Commission for the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO, where he helped raise awareness internationally about importance of ratifyiing the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty as the next step on the road to nuclear disarmament. Peter also worked for the United Nations Scientific Committee on the Effects of Atomic Radiation (UNSCEAR).
